I grew up in the rural south, and unfortunately, was raised in financial poverty. We regularly experienced financial difficulty, and as as result, I developed a week to week and month to month mentality. In my early 20's, I was able to secure several great mentors who helped me acknowledge and correct my faulty financial patterns. They helped me see that money wasn't the problem, but my perspective about money was the problem. As I went into careers in banking, investments and consulting, I encountered men and women who simply thought differently about money than I did. I learned from these men and women. I read the books they read and cut away at the faulty patterns I had about money. As a result, we live an amazing life and it gets better each year.
